Restoring the pulse
in your relationship.

"We take responders from surviving to thriving."

Coaching for first responders, healthcare heroes, and the partners who hold it all together. Built by responders, for responders — practical tools that work between calls, between shifts, and behind closed doors.

From one responder to another.

No-risk promise: if the first call isn't useful, we'll send you a resource list and you owe us nothing — no pitch, no follow-up.

We only take a small number of new couples each month — spots are limited.

About Us — Our Story

From the rocks, to divorce, to remarried — and now coaching couples like you.

"Our relationship had been on the rocks for years. We tried counseling, but nothing was helping. No one understood us. Ultimately, our relationship was failing and our family was dividing. The trust was completely gone."

Our Journey

  1. 2/29/2012 — We got married.
  2. Blended our family of 8 kids.
  3. Both started new careers — mine in nursing, Paul advanced his as a paramedic.
  4. Got pregnant with the shock of our life — identical twin boys (bringing the kid total to 10).
  5. Moved several times. Advanced our careers. Life was busy and crazy.
  6. Finances were tough. Relationship was tough. Parenting was tough. Work was tough. Life was tough.
  7. Fighting, arguing, and division all kept increasing.
  8. Mental health struggles and suicidal ideation.
  9. We loved each other — but in a different way. After trying everything and talking to multiple counselors, we separated and got divorced.
  10. Struggled through parenting separately.
  11. Took time to invest in ourselves.
  12. Went through several coaching courses.
  13. Had some real conversations with each other.
  14. Got back together — with a different-than-ever-before relationship.
  15. Experienced so much growth as partners, as individuals, and as a family.
  16. 2/29/2024 — Got remarried after 2 years apart.

"We vowed to help other couples going through what we went through."

Today we coach first responder couples 2-on-2, have appeared on podcasts, taught at national conferences, and lead a first responder group through our church. Our mission is simple: help responder marriages go from surviving to thriving.

If our story sounds anything like yours — let's talk.

Why Coaching, Not Therapy

Most responders never walk into a therapist's office.

It's not weakness — it's calculation. The fear of a label, a flag in your file, or a fit-for-duty call keeps too many couples silent until the damage is done. Coaching removes those barriers. No diagnosis. No medical record. No notes that follow you into a promotion board.

  • • Off the record, on your schedule
  • • Forward-focused, not pathology-focused
  • • Peer-driven — we've lived the shift work, the calls, the fallout
85%

of first responder couples report significant strain from shift work, trauma exposure, and hypervigilance.

60–75%

of officers and firefighters experience serious relationship distress at some point in their career.

1 in 4

first responders meet criteria for PTSD or depression — yet fewer than 35% ever seek clinical help.

70%

say stigma, career impact, and confidentiality fears are the #1 reason they avoid therapy.

Coaching vs. Therapy — what's the actual difference?

Both have value. For relationship work with first responders, coaching clears the biggest barrier: the fear of being labeled.

Traditional Therapy

  • Diagnosis-driven and on your medical record
  • May trigger fit-for-duty or insurance flags
  • Focus often on past trauma and pathology
  • Typically slower, open-ended treatment
  • Clinical setting can feel foreign to the job

Relationship Coaching

  • No diagnosis, no medical chart, no record
  • Confidential — outside the clinical system
  • Forward-focused: communication, intimacy, stress
  • Action-oriented with measurable goals in 2–6 months
  • Built by responders, for responders — we get the life

Who We Serve

If you run toward what others run from — this is for you.

Firefighters. Police officers. EMTs and paramedics. Dispatchers. Corrections officers. Military and veterans. Nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers. And the spouses who hold the home line while the pager goes off again.
